Poverty alleviation is a priority activity of the present government. For the successful implementation of these activities, PDBF organized disadvantaged groups in rural areas through effective lending programs, raising capital through savings of poor people, setting up small scale industries through creation of small entrepreneurs, access to electricity in non-electricity areas, skills development training, leadership. Being able to make significant contribution in training and empowerment of women. Besides, the PDBF is now able to play a commendable role in the implementation of various development projects of the government. In order to build a hunger and poverty free Bangladesh, PDBF has provided financial assistance to the rural poor and disadvantaged people to participate in productive activities and to create employment. Included and disbursed loan is 96 crore 15 lakh 7 thousand taka, loan recovery rate is 98%. In the last 03 years, the net savings deposit of the beneficiary members is 03 crore 33 lakh 16 thousand taka. In this program, self-employment opportunities have been created for about 12,060 rural people through various income generating activities such as cow rearing, fish farming, fishing, rural transport, handicrafts, vegetable farming, nursery, poultry rearing etc. As a result, PDBF has been able to make a significant contribution to the growth of national production.
In order to provide financial assistance to the affected people of Kovid-19, in the current financial year till October / 21, 254 members of Patuakhali and Barguna districts have been provided incentive loan of Tk 4.55 crore from government incentive fund for productive activities.
In order to provide financial assistance to the affected people of Kovid-19, an incentive loan of Taka 232.60 crore received from the government incentive fund for productive activities will be disbursed to 138 members of Patuakhali and Barguna districts till February / 22 months of the current financial year.
